Though Eltham Cemetery is large, there is very little of much interest here. The stones are slab-like and unimaginative; the architecture is Council-built brown brick efficiency. The only monument of interest is the half-size figure in flying gear, commemorating an airman killed in 1938.
Tucked away on a hillside behind Barnet General Hospital is Bells Hill Burial Ground. It is in fact a Church of England churchyard, though separated from its church by a road. As in so many churchyards, the memorials are not spectacular, but it's a pleasant enough spot.
